Killahora Orchards is a family business and everything is handmade on site with 100% fresh juice. We take our time, allowing our products to mature for up to a year to achieve the most complexity of flavour.
Founders and cousins, Barry Walsh and Dave Watson have the goal of growing the best rare apple and pear varieties on their Irish soil and use artisanal techniques to turn their fruits into award winning drinks.
Killahora Orchards Johnny Fall Down Bittersweet Cider is made from the entire range of their apple harvest, from the early lighter varieties to the late ripening, rare varieties of apples in our Cork orchards.
It is a blend that brings in bright, soft acidity but with a full-bodied, complex flavour and a lingering tannic finish. Also includes some cask aged ciders from 2018.
All ciders are handmade on site with 100% fresh juice. They’re made with minimum intervention and use wild fermentation. They’re allowed to take their time, maturing for up to a year to gain the most complexity of flavour.
Killahora Rare Apple Ice Wine won the Best Irish Drink Award 2019 at the prestigious Irish Food Writers Guild Awards and both this drink and their Pom’O aperitif won Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards 2019.

Pom’O
Our Pom’O is an apple aperitif made from rare apple varieties, grown in our 200 year old Orchards on the south facing slopes of Ireland’s County Cork. We mix the juice from our bittersweet apples with the finest apple brandy, then age it in Irish whiskey barrels for at least a year.
Medium foxy-gold. Hint of brandy on the nose, and apple jam. Marzipan flavours over delicious ripe-apple and kumquat fruit. Elegant, polished and spicy with a hint of creamy tobacco and honey. Alcohol feels restrained and beautifully balanced, as is the dry finishAVAILABLE IN

Rare Apple Ice Wine
Our Rare Apple Ice Wine is made from rare, bittersweet apples mostly grown in our 200 year old Orchards on the south facing slopes of Ireland’s County Cork. We use freezing temperatures to obtain a beautiful, rich must which we slowly ferment for over a year to give a luscious balanced dessert wine.
