Fledgling No.2 is a single variety cider made with Red Love apples, a unique red-fleshed apple grown at Gibbet Oak Farm. This cider has aromas of sweet red apples and berries and a flavour profile similar to a dry, acidic white wine. Serve lightly chilled, but not cold. 6.4% ABV | Single variety Red Love cider | 2020 vintage The Fledgling series showcases cider made using the ancestral, or pét-nat (pétillant natural), method. This involves bottling before the end of primary fermentation, allowing the process to complete in the bottle itself. The year 2020 was an incredible vintage for cider and we were compelled to bottle two of our ciders using the pét-nat process.

Our Sparkling Vintage Cider is made with a high proportion of dessert apples in the mix to give it that delicious ‘méthode traditionelle’ taste.
  The apples are pressed, then fermented twice: first in the barrel for a year; then a second year’s fermentation in the bottle. The cider is then disgorged in the champagne style and aged further before release.  It is the secondary fermentation that gives our cider its wonderful bubbly effervescence; a method invented in the West Country for fine cider making around 1600, well before it was used in France for Champagne.   Our Sparkling Vintage Cider won silver at the 2015 British Cider championships and a 2016 Gold Taste of the West award.   750ml champagne bottles, corked, wired and foiled. 7.5% ABV.

Gift four mixed cases of Bignose & Beardy batches and we'll send them out monthly, bimonthly or quarterly.

We'll pick the ciders for you from our current stock sending a minimum of three varieties if you pick a mix of dry, medium and medium-sweet. If you choose dry only or no drys we'll send at least two varieties per case.

A great way for a friend or loved one to enjoy a range of our ciders.

The gift subscription lasts for four monthly cases with the first case shipping within seven days of your order. You'll be billed the case price plus delivery each time we send it out. The subscription will end automatically after four boxes.

FREE LOCAL DELIVERY (to TN22 1,2,4,5) or delivery costs from £8.50. We ship orders on Tuesdays and Thursdays (allow up to seven days for delivery).

Deliveries must be signed for by a person aged 18 or over. Drivers operate a challenge 25 policy: if you appear under 25 you will be asked for photo ID.

Local customers you can also collect from the Cidery on Fridays or at other times by appointment with no shipping costs.
